The cherry blossom in Bonn is legendary. Every spring, thousands of people come to the old town when the hundreds of cherry trees there are in full bloom. The highlight is the blossoming of a Japanese kind of cherries, which bloom in a particularly rich pink along two streets. In 2021, I witnessed a rare phenomenon: Snow during the Sakura! When I saw the snowflakes outside my window, I grabbed my Minolta X700 and raced the few hundred meters into the old town on my bike. A wonderful spectacle awaited me there: thick snowflakes in front of pink blossoms; winter was still sending a final greeting well into spring. After a few minutes, the fun was over again. I would have liked to have photographed for longer, but I managed to get two beautiful pictures.
